  • The Style

As a Precision Alignment Yoga school, we focus our Asana training strongly on the principles of anatomical alignment, we believe that aligning the physical body allows us to align and free our Vital Life Force Energy.  With the physical body supported and the energy flowing freely, our thoughts, feelings and emotions have the opportunity to become more balanced, from this place, we are then able to move towards health.

Yoga does not simply start and finish with postures. It is a holistic system and philosophy and at the heart of that system you will find what is called the 8 limbs of yoga.  The 8 limbs of yoga include  Asana (Postures) Pranayama (Mindful breathing & control of Energy through restraint of breath.) Niyamas (Observences of practices.) Yamas (Restraints) Pratyahara (Withdrawl of the senses or turning inward.) Dharna(Concentration or one pointed focus) Dhyana(Meditation) and Samadhi (Total absorbtion or union of the self.) At The Yoga Shed it is our intention to share Yoga as a whole and incorporate all 8 limbs of yoga into our teachings.

  • Why Precision Alignment Yoga?

When the body is “out of alignment”, the weight of the body is no longer supported by the bones. Coupled with the force of gravity pulling us downward, the weight of the body can cause severe unnatural stress to the muscular-skeletal system. Many aches, pains and injuries stem from an already tight, misaligned body. With the body in this state, it doesn’t take much more stress, to cause more pain or, to seriously injure oneself.

The Benefits of Alignment Yoga are many. Bringing the body into alignment allows the body to work as it’s designed: To help support the skeletal system, so that we may move freely and effortlessly. With an aligned structure, the Organs have the space and freedom to function properly, and from that, the Systems of the body also have the opportunity to work as they are designed.

  • In a Precision Alignment Yoga class, you will learn how to use alignment principles to improve Form and Technique in the Yoga postures. Building both strength and flexibility of body and Mind. You will learn precise ways to position the body in order to gain maximum benefits from the Yoga Postures and avoid injury. You will explore and discover how aligning the body can bring balance, to your physical structure, while also helping align its energetic pathways.





  • Tuesday: 5:30pm-6:45pm / Emma

In this class we incorporate the fundamental principles of Precision Alignment Yoga while practicing in a heated environment. The room is heated so flexibility is enhanced and detoxification of the body is increased through sweat and breathing. Using the heat and the breath as your tools, this can be a very dynamic but meditative class. We encourage the practice of “Svadyaya” or Self Study throughout this class and we invite you to use the heat as an opportunity to draw your senses inward and mindfully go deeper. Please note we DO NOT heat the room higher than 98 degrees Fahrenheit, however, you will definitely sweat in this class, so please bring a mat, towel and water.

Using the principles of Precision Alignment Yoga the postures are taught in a Flow sequence, moving from one posture into the next. We unravel the body by building from simple range of motion exercises to foundation postures into more challenging strength and flexibility postures. We focus on maintaining healthy alignment of the body, while moving fluidly and gracefully throughout the sequences. As this style incorporates focused fluidity of movement, it is very likely that you will increase your heart rate, build stamina, increase focus, improve balance, build strength and flexibility, promote weight loss and improve stress management. Modifications will be offered so if you are an absolute beginner or an experienced Yogi, you can approach this class safely and at the same time be challenged both physically and mentally.

A Precision Alignment Gentle class is just as the name suggests, designed for those who prefer the less active type of yoga class and enjoy a gentle approach to increasing flexibility, building strength, Breath-work, Relaxation and Restoration. This is a meditative practice emphasizing self-awareness and stress reduction. Appropriate for all levels, from beginners to experienced practitioners, including those recovering from physical setbacks.

This class is designed as a conditioning class for those who want to empower themselves through the fun and energizing practice of AcroYoga!

This fun dynamic workout is designed to prepare those who are interested in participating in AcroYoga workshops, for those who wish to continue their conditioning program once familiar with the basics of AcroYoga or for anyone who wants to bring a dynamic, energizing workout into their regular exercise program. This class incorporates a variety of stretching, core strength training, total body strength training, balance work, plyometrics and more….

This class is focused on learning and practicing healthy, focused, breathing techniques to help promote improved lung capacity and function while supporting and strengthening our natural breathing apparatus. Breath-work helps oxygenate the blood and purge the lungs of residual carbon dioxide. Conscious breathing also allows us to relax the physical body, quiet the Mind and draw our attention inward, which is a vital component of Meditation. Focused breathing techniques can help soothe anxiety and stress, balance left and right hemispheres of the brain and promote clear thinking.

Meditation allows us to “come inside” and become more aware of the “stuff” that distracts us from enjoying a healthy, vibrantly alive existence. Thru meditation we can practice observing what goes on in our head on a daily basis, and also practice a fundamental concept of yoga “Yogah Citta Vrtti Nirodhah” – The cessation of the fluctuations of the Mind Stuff. Meditation is known for reducing stress and enhancing a general sense of Well-being. From stressed out Ceo’s to people dealing with disease to the person who is simply looking to bring a sense of peace into their life…everyone can benefit from a practice of conscious breathing and meditation.




• If The Yoga Shed cancels the Workshop or 8 Week Series a full refund will be issued.

• No refunds will be issued for sessions postponed for inclement weather and every effort will be made to reschedule such sessions.

• A 50% non-refundable deposit is payable upon registration and is fully refunded if the applicant is not accepted into workshop or series.

• If a student withdraws from the workshop or 8 week series the following refund policy applies:

• If the student withdraws a minimum of 72 hours prior to first day of commencement the student will receive a full refund of all monies paid.

• If the student withdraws a minimum of 48 hours prior to first day of commencement the student will receive a full refund of all monies paid minus 50% non- refundable deposit.

• If the student withdraws less than 24 hours prior to day of workshop or first week of the series, no refund will be issued

• No refunds will be issued for no-shows, late arrivals or early departures

• The Yoga Shed reserves the right to amend this policy at its sole discretion.

Please note that you can confirm your space with payment in full… The deposit will hold your space however you must pay in full within 48 hours of commencement to confirm your space, if we have not received your full payment within the 48 hour window, you may lose your space to someone on the waiting list and your non –refundable deposit.
